Have you ever noticed that you just accept whatever is given to you?
I noticed that bubbling up in my life. I accepted the salary offer even though I hoped for more. I accepted the late nights. I never really chose where I wanted to eat. I went with the flow. And quickly realized one thing that could lead to unhappiness.
I never really chose or defined what I wanted.
This sent me down a long journey. How do I define what I want? It feels weird to say I want these things. Am I cutting myself short by placing limiting beliefs on my wants?
I’d even venture to say it’s never a completed journey. I won’t accomplish the things I want, but I am striving for something bigger than me. To create something that doesn’t exist.
Don’t get me wrong I still struggle here, but I’ve noticed the choice is one of the most important things I can do.
I choose to be the creative force in my life.
You choose how to love your wife in the way she needs.
You choose to maintain perspective in your conversations.
You choose to strive for things outside of your current reality.
Don’t just accept what is given to you.
