The dichotomy of routine (how we hate but crave routine)

I’m so bored with my life.

Does that sound like you? Life just begins to feel mundane because you’re doing the same thing every week.

Routines. We hate them but we need them.

Before wishing you had a different life, it’s worth taking a step back and realizing your routines are a necessary part of life.

We create routines to help cope with change.

This has never been emphasized more for me than in recent moves. When I moved across the country, my life flipped upside down. I just moved again and feel it again.

Part of the fun of the move is trying to find a new way to do things. Its like a forced step back from reality to ask one important question.

Am I creating the life I want?

When routines fall by the wayside, I definitely notice a shift in the way I feel and show up in the world. I just feel off.

Maybe its time to take a step back and evaluate your routines. What can you implement to achieve new goals or create healthy habits?

Once you find new routines you like, you’ll get bored and then come back to the one question to create more.
